Here we have collected many abbreviations related to our specialist area. You will find access to the glossary in each of the web-based training courses on the left above the navigation menu. Due to high data volume but limited bandwidth the mammography and tomosynthesis data sets cannot be loaded in their original size and resolution in this online presentation. The images do by no means achieve the diagnostic quality that is clinically required, especially for evaluating mammography examinations. Furthermore, the image processing software and hardware is continuously being developed and improved. The depicted clinical case studies have not always been acquired with the latest technology and do not automatically reflect the latest state of development. This is also influenced by the specific hospital environment, point in time and patient mix. In clinical routine, the positioning of the breast must be adapted to the clinical conditions; not every patient can be positioned according to ideal criteria.
